Amber Oliver
Senior Editor
Amber Oliver joined Zando in 2025 with more than a decade of experience editing diverse fiction and nonfiction. She won the 2024 Women’s Media Group's Media Superstar Award and was a Publisher’s Weekly Star Watch Honoree in 2019. Amber previously held roles at Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, and Bloomsbury Publishing, editing New York Times, international, and national bestsellers, as well as winners and finalists for the National Book Award, National Book Critics Circle Award, Lambda Literary Award, NAACP Image Award, and other major honors.
Amber acquires edgy, lush, voice-driven literary and upmarket fiction with high emotional stakes and a strong sense of place. She is drawn to expansive family sagas, coming-of-age stories, and narratives that explore identity, power, grief, inheritance, and reclamation. She also seeks literary horror, particularly gothic horror, and is committed to championing underrepresented voices, including BIPOC, queer, and neurodiverse authors.
At Zando, Amber builds ambitious, emotionally resonant fiction with cultural weight.
