Financial Analyst (NYC/Remote)

Zando is seeking a meticulous and proactive individual to join our team. This position will provide support to the finance team in managing and analyzing the day-to-day operations. Specifically, this position will play an active role in monthly reporting and analysis, forecasting and ad hoc analysis, and the biannual royalty reporting. 

Specific responsibilities include: 

• Supports monthly financial closings, including detailed analyses of sales, cost of goods sold, operating expenses, accruals
• Support monthly royalty accrual posting
• Review author royalty statements and support author/agent inquiries
• Creates monthly summaries of financial performance and key performance indicators
• Assists in preparing formal forecasts for corporate submissions
• Generates post-mortem analysis of previous acquisitions/publications to help inform editorial decisions
• Provides analysis to support production staff in making print and reprint decisions
• Provides support to editorial staff during acquisition process.

Please apply if you meet the following qualifications: 

• 2-3 years of relevant work experience preferably in a finance/accounting role, or related analytical role 
• Strong business and analytical skills, including an understanding of basic financial and accounting principles
• Strong PC skills, including proficiency with Excel (including vlookups and pivot tables) and PowerPoint
• Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Attention to detail and accuracy, ideally combined with an ability to see the big picture
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues across all levels and functions
• Ability to take initiative and to work both independently and as part of a team

Salary: $70,000
